Week 15 Part A

Developing Your Marketing Strategy

Social Media Platforms

Facebook and Instagram. I don't really consider them separate entities at this point. They have different strengths and weaknesses, but those tend to be inherent in the types of posts on the sites. Facebook Creator Studio is a great tool for managing both Facebook and Instagram business accounts. Using Creator Studio you can create a variety of posts and schedule them for appropriate times. Facebook Analytics also would be valuable. Facebook Analytics gives you detailed data about your audience and when they are online. Using the demographics information on Facebook allows a business to target the right population at the right times, even to customize different content for different demographics.

Blogger. I really have enjoyed using Blogger. As a submission media for the class it has been a breath of fresh air. Learning a platform while completing assignments has been awesome. It is easy to use and customize. My business would benefit from having a blog. Facebook and Instagram would be great for brand awareness. A blog would be perfect for brand education. Email lists and email marketing seem contrived and ignored. Having a blog to support the brand would be an easy way to educate consumers. Additionally, it is fairly easy to link to and can be added as part of my Facebook and Instagram campaigns.

LinkedIn. AES would deal primarily in B2B business operations. Any rollout of our platform would be within the auspices of contracting through another business. We would work with event planners, conventions, and audio visual companies. A strong presence on LinkedIn would allow the company to utilize employees' business networks to build leads. Properly utilizing LinkedIn groups could also have a good ROI. Properly moderating a LinkedIn group could lead to a lot of good conversations and generate another good group of leads.

Social Media Strategy

At first, the company would need to have at least 1 marketing person. They should be spending most of their day dealing with social media marketing. Building material, scheduling posts, replying to comments.... There is so much to do in the world of social media marketing, and it tends to have a very good ROI (if done right). I would also make sure that every member of the business had access to social media posts related to their job. Each employee would also have scripted replies based on consumer responses. All scripted replies should be able to be used to promptly reply to consumer questions and lead to further responses by the appropriate manager. In addition to building material, scheduling posts, and replying to consumers, the social media manager would be responsible for updating all employees. There would need to be daily emails to educate all employees on social media strategy and marketing campaigns. Only after a strong social media presence has been created, and the brand has strong online awareness would I ever consider moving into more traditional marketing.
